reverse osmosis water filter Water softening is the elimination of calcium, magnesium, and certain other metal cations in difficult water. The resulting soft water needs less detergent to the same cleaning attempt, as soap isn't wasted mopping up calcium ions. Soft water also extends the lifetime of pipes by decreasing or eliminating scale build-up in pipes and fittings. Water softening is usually achieved using lime softening or ion-exchange resins. The presence of certain metal ions like calcium and magnesium principally as bicarbonates, chlorides, and sulfates in water causes many different problems. Hard water leads to the buildup of limescale, which can filthy pipes, and promote galvanic corrosion. In industrial scale water softening plants, the effluent flow from the re-generation procedure can precipitate scale which may interfere with sewage methods. The slippery feeling experienced when using soap with gentle water occurs because soaps tend to bind to fats in the surface layers of skin, making soap molecules difficult to remove by simple dilution. By comparison, in hard-water regions, the wash water includes magnesium or calcium ions that form insoluble salts, efficiently removing the residual soap from the epidermis but possibly leaving a coating of insoluble stearates on tub and shower surfaces, commonly called soap scum. Which of those effects is considered more or less desirable varies from person to person, and people who dislike the sliminess and difficulty of washing off soap caused by soft water can harden the water by adding chemicals such as baking soda, calcium chloride, or sodium sulfate. THERE ARE POTENTIALLY UNHEALTHY CONTAMINANTS IN YOUR WATER YOU DON'T WANT IN YOUR BODY The safe drinking water act of 1974, which dictates the quality of water which you are lawfully permitted to get out of your faucet, modulates less than 100 water contaminants. No matter how the EPA estimates there are approximately 60,000 chemicals in the US right now. Just consider all the medications and prescriptions we take, pass through our system, then wind up back into our drinking water unregulated. The point is not to frighten you, simply to educate you about how we have been helping people enhance their own water by making it healthier. To reduce contaminants from your water around 98% we've high excellent Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water Filter systems available alongside our dedicated service and maintenance. In addition, we supply sediment filters, carbon filters (to eliminate chlorine and odors), Ultraviolet Lights (to kill living organisms), and even Water Ionizers to provide alkaline water. Advanced Water Solutions is locally owned and run by Jay Hellenbrand, CWS-V, CI with more than 20 years at the water treatment market. Jay's experience comes from manufacturing, wholesale distribution, field service, and retail sales. Advanced Water Solutions has been serving the central coast since 1997. Our continued growth and expansion is a result of our commitment to delivering the highest quality merchandise backed with the very best customer services. We've got a team of highly qualified installers and service technicians. We maintain models and all brands of water treatment equipment and support. Serving both residential and business markets in Ventura, Santa Barbara and Los Angeles counties, AWS includes a full line of whole-house filters, water softeners, drinking water systems, water heaters, insta-hot water manufacturers, inline water chillers, filters and much more. Supplying high efficiency water softeners with chlorine decrease and reverse osmosis systems is a priority for Advanced Water Solutions. Many older softeners are ineffective and use great amounts of water and salt no more meeting California Efficiency Standards. Our systems far surpass the new efficiency standards using less salt or potassium and water. The conventional reverse osmosis system uses up to 80% more water than the new Advanced Reserve Osmosis System. Advanced Water Solutions is a part of the Santa Barbara and Ventura Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the Water Quality Association (WQA). In March of 2011 AWS was known as a Hall of Fame Member using the BBB for a record of no complaints. Jay Hellenbrand is a certified Water Specialist, Accredited Installer, also has specialization certificates in Reverse Osmosis, Deionization, Filtration, and Ultra filtration. Jay also carries a California State Contractors License. Contact us - water softener
